About the artist
Johannes Embrosius van de Wetering de Rooij was born in Woudrichem on 7 August 1877, he died in 1972. He lived and worked in Delft, Den Haag, Heeze, Enkhuizen, Gorinchem, Oirschot. Van de Wetering de Rooij traveled to Belgium and France. After he was apprenticed to A. Le Comte in Delft, he studied at the Akademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague from 1897 to 1900. He received a royal subsidy between 1904 and 1907. Wetering de Rooij painted and drew landscapes. His work is included in the collection of the Rijksmuseum Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen.
