Marian Plug (Almelo, August 2, 1937) is a Dutch painter, who is considered to belong to the neo-expressionist movement. Plug received several awards, including the Jeanne Oostingprijs for painting, the Hans Jafféprijs, and the Singerprijs (1991). The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Stedelijk Museum de Lakenhal in Leiden and various private and corporate collections have work by her.

Initially, she went through a long period of many experiments in various techniques (in addition to painting, among others, watercolour, photography and silk-screen printing), in which her poetic abstract play with fragments of reality is striking. From about 1983, pure painting broke through in her work. With forests, seas and huge tree trunks, she expresses her feelings towards an overwhelming nature in intense and heavy brushstrokes on large format canvases.

Her long correspondence with writer and translator August Willemsen was published in full by De Arbeiderspers in 2014 in the series Privé Domein, with the title 'Keep these letters as your own drawings'.
