About the artist
Omran Younis is born in 1971 in Al-Hasakah, Syria. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus in 1998 then obtained a Masters degree in Fine Arts in 2000.
He is characterized by his oversized portraits with exaggerated figures, their large heads dominating canvases and a minimal palette: white, black, grey, brown and pink tones. He uses varius mediums for his paintings, creating dimension with washes of color and scumbled paint.
He exhibited throughout the Middle East and the US.
