About the artwork
About the ArtistHeiner Meyer was born in 1953, in Bielefeld, Germany. He began studying liberal arts at HBK Braunschweig, from which he graduated in 1981. During his studies he was employed as an assistant of Salvador Dalí.
Nowadays Meyer is renowned for his Pop Art-like paintings and sculptures, through which he explores the superficiality of our everyday lives and consumerist glamour. He tends to contrast this with images from the history of European art: Greek sculptures against Mickey Mouse. Meyer is passionate about travelling, and has participated in various exhibitions throughout the world.
