  • About the artist

    Willy Sluiter was born in Amersfoort on the 24th of May in 1873.
    He was a Dutch painter, illustrator and graphic designer.

    He was part of Pictura in Dordrecht, Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam and Pulchri Studio in The Hague.

    Sluiter was educated at the Academy in Rotterdam and in The Hague between 1891 and 1894. During this time he developed into a well known painter, but he also made political prints and bookends.

    He died in The Hague on the 22nd of May in 1949.
