Gilles Cenazandotti , a French artist, was born in 1966 in Bastia, Corsica.
Cenazandotti is best-known for his conceptual animal sculptures made out of beach litter. He developed a reflection on the future of our planet . His work shows the human struggle, of complex nature and technological paroxysm where humans try to imitate nature through artificial processes.
Scouring the seaside for plastic bottles, lighters and empty cans left behind by beachgoers Cenazandotti uses these discarded items to create these incredible animal sculptures, most of which are endangered species.
Cenazandotti writes on his website: 'Impressed by everything that the sea, in turn, rejects and transforms, on the beaches, I harvest the products derived from petroleum and its industry.'
