Marieke Peters (1977) is a visual artist, who lives and works in Den Bosch. She uses photography, painting, and silkscreen as her main techniques with linen, wood, glass or ceramics as the underlay. Mostly she takes pictures of people in deserted environments, pictures of nature or just from deserted places. Peters tries to capture the vulnerability of human beings and also the enormous strength that can arise when people are connected with nature. She has had many exhibitions, in the Netherlands and abroad, for instance at the Kruithuis, Den Bosch (2006/2009/2014); FotoGalerie (solo exhibition), Rotterdam (2009); Fabriekswerk – Willem Twee - , Den Bosch (2017); AAF, Brussels (2013); Project Numbat, Perth, Australia (2015). She was awarded the Prize for best graphic work inspired by Hieronymus Bosch, GA, Den Bosch (2015).
