Anne-Pierre de Kat was born in Delft in 1881, he died in La Frette (France) in 1968. He was educated at the art academies in The Hague, Ghent and Brussels. Anne-Pierre joined the celebrated Belgian group of St. Martens-Lathem. He was a painter of portraits, still lives and flowers. He was honoured with the “Nationale Prijs voor Schone Kunsten” in 1939 and the “Prijs van het Portret” in 1947.
