- Sobre el artistaNicolaas Riegen nació en Amsterdam, el 31 de mayo de 1827, donde continuó viviendo y trabajando por el resto de su vida. Riegen fue un hábil pintor de paisajes marinos y vistas de ríos, de diversas condiciones climáticas. También se sabía que había pintado paisajes y vistas de la ciudad según la Escuela de La Haya. Regen expuso su trabajo durante su vida en eventos en Arnhem y Maastricht. Aunque era un pintor registrado y, por lo tanto, un profesional, su trabajo rara vez se ve. En 1872 se postuló para "Arti et Amicitiae" en Amsterdam. En 1899 falleció Riegen.
