- Sobre el artistaRemko Watjer era un artista holandés de Groningen y alumno del pintor Jan Altink. Watjer fue muy activo en la escena artística de Groningen, pintando retratos de artistas influyentes de Groningen en su período figurativo temprano. Es mejor conocido por la vivacidad de sus retratos y su fuerte uso del color. Watjer pasó algún tiempo en París más adelante en su vida, donde estudió en la Académie André Lhote. Su trabajo se puede ver en el Museo Central de Utrecht. Murió en 1989.
