  • Sobre el artista
    Marcel Wanders (Boxtel, 1963) es reconocido internacionalmente por su producto, diseño de muebles e interiores y dirección de arte. Se graduó con honores de la Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (ahora ArtEZ) en Arnhem en 1988 después de ser expulsado de la Academia de Diseño de Eindhoven. En 1995 abrió su estudio en Ámsterdam, y en 1996 atrajo rápidamente la atención mundial por su silla Knotted, en la que un material de alta tecnología se combina con una técnica de macramé de baja tecnología. Desde 2001, Wanders también ha trabajado como director de arte para Moooi, la exitosa marca de interiores de la que es copropietario. Hoy en día, sus diseños de ensueño, que hacen referencia a estilos conocidos del pasado, tienen un éxito particular en el extranjero y trabaja para marcas de renombre internacional como Alessi, Moroso, KLM, Swarovski, Marks & Spencer, Puma, Kartell. Además Wanders ha trabajado en proyectos de interiorismo como la sala VIP del pabellón holandés en la Feria Mundial de Hannover (2000), el Mondrian Hotel Miami (2008) y el Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht Hotel (2012).
