Hermanus Heuvel was born in Nijmegen in 1736 as son of Johannes Heuvel and Elisabeth van Hagen. In 1766 he became master-silversmith in Amsterdam. That same year he married Anna Sibilla Ruyghoud. The couple lived at Egelantierstraat in Amsterdam. As a service worker Hermanus manufactured candlesticks, baskets, sauceboats and tobacco jars until 1780. Later on he specialized in smaller objects like salts, table bells and chamber sticks. His son Johannes also became silversmith. He had his workshop at Lauriergracht in Amsterdam, where his father Hermanus died in 1810.

Hermanus Heuvel nacque a Nimega nel 1736 come figlio di Johannes Heuvel ed Elisabeth van Hagen. Nel 1766 divenne maestro argentiere ad Amsterdam. Nello stesso anno sposò Anna Sibilla Ruyghud. La coppia viveva in Egelantierstraat ad Amsterdam. Hermanus produsse candelieri, cesti, salsiere e giare per tabacco fino al 1780. Successivamente si specializzò in oggetti più piccoli come campane da tavolo e bastoni da camera. Anche suo figlio Johannes divenne argentiere. Johannes tenne il suo laboratorio al Lauriergracht di Amsterdam, dove suo padre Hermanus morì nel 1810.
