Carlos Mata

Carlos Mata was a Spanish sculptor who was born in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) in 1949, he died in Barcelona in 2008. His work is inspired by Spanish culture, childhood memories, landscapes and grounds, especially prehistory and geology. He is noted for his stylized horses and bulls. His modern horses seem to be playful but also dignified, reminding of ancient cultures. He exhibited at various art fairs and his work is included in many public and private collections throughout Europe, South America, and the United States.
