Michael Isengrin (1500, Basel – 1557, Basel) was a publisher at Basel. He married a daughter of the printer Johann Bebel. In 1530 he entered the guild of the gardeners. In 1531 he started printing along with his stepfather (until1539), but from 1532 he also worked as a self-employed printer, sometimes in cooperation with Heinrich Petri and Andreas Cratander. In 1554 he married Elisabeth Linden. When he died his widow carried on the printing office till 1561. Afterwards his stepson Thomas Guarin took over the printing business. Isengrin published many works of classical authors, Aristotle, Xeophon, Isocrates, Plutarchus, Galen, and others. He also published Jean Ruel’s Latin translation (from the Greek) of Dioscurides’ standard work on pharmacology De medica materia (Basel, 1542).

His printing mark shows a palm tree with the inscription "Palma Ising [ini]".
