  • About the artist

As a 4-year-old child, Wilhelmina could often be found under the large dining table, where she was crocheting. She made clothes for her dolls and teddy bears. Little Wilhelmina lived in her own world, full of fantasy, color and scent, and dreamed of one day creating her own collections.

Later, as a teenager, Wilhelmina experimented with drawing, paint, and making her own clothes. She was accepted at the fashion academy, which she completed with flying colors. In addition to many commercial jobs in the fashion retail trade, Wilhelmina fed her creative desires and continued to follow courses; she continued to draw and paint until she made hats and eventually goldsmithing.

In the beginning, it was difficult to get a grip on the hard and cold character of a piece of silver. She was used to working with more flexible materials such as fabric, which is easy to shape. For a specific assignment, Wilhelmina had to make silver wire from a piece of silver. This proved to be a challenge, but it inspired a new possibility. In a flashback to her youth, Wilhelmina remembered her experiments with the crochet hook.

Her artist's heart jumped for joy, she picked up a crochet hook and started experimenting with crocheting with fine silver and copper wire and the start of new applications. Now Wilhelmina even uses 18-carat gold in her collection.

Wilhelmina combines precious stones, diamonds, fur and freshwater pearls in her gold and silver collections. Wilhelmina buys her materials on her many travels. For example, the Cameos directly from the cutters personally, near Naples in Italy. In addition, the trade fair visits: the Inhorgenta Messe in Munich and the Bijorca in Paris.
