About the artist
Hans Hanner was a German painter, born in St. Goar in 1883, he died in Dresden in 1966. He studied under O. Zwintscher and G. Kuehl at the Dresdener Kunstakademie between 1902 and 1910. He travelled to Italy, France and Spain. From 1934 to 1944 he was a teacher at the Dresdener Kunstakademie and between 1937 and 1938 he was headmaster. His work can be found in the collection of the Dresdner Stadtmuseum and Museum Wiesbaden. He painted still-lifes, landscapes and portraits.
