Johannes Jacobus Paling

Johannes Jacobus Paling was born in Amsterdam on 16 April 1844, he died in Laren on 13 February 1892. He worked in Amsterdam until 1886, The Hague until 1888, thereafter Laren (North Holland). He mainly painted interiors with figures. He taught W. van der Vliet. Paling exhibited in Amsterdam and The Hague between 1864 and 1888. His work is included in the collection of the Zeeuws Museum (Middelburg) and Rijksprentenkabinet (Amsterdam).
