Xeno Augustus Franciscus Ludovicus Münninghoff was born in Deventer in 1873, he died in Barneveld in 1944. He was a Dutch artist, draughtsman, lithographer and director of the Avondtekenschool in Renkum. He was married to the painter Mathilda Jacoba van Vliet. He was apprenticed to A. Hijner in the Rijksnormaalschool in Amsterdam. Important subjects in his work are figures, forests, moors. Münninghoff lived and worked in Deventer, Amsterdam, Heelsum, Katwijk aan Zee, Doorwerth, Renkum and Oosterbeek. He was awarded a golden medal at the Provincie Utrecht exhibition in 1910. He also was a member of “Arti et Amicitiae”.
