Jean Louis Marcel Cosson was a member of the Societé des Artistes Français and exhibited regularly at the Salon National. Cosson became famous for painting scenes from the opera, ballet and circus of Paris in an impressionistic style. He also preferred to paint women in restaurants and cafes.
