Thibaud Payen (1500 – 1579), also called Theobaldus Paganus, was a publisher and printer at Lyon from 1529(?) to 1570. He published a great number of secular and religious books, for instance: Jean Ruel’s Latin translation (from the Greek) of Dioscurides’ standard work on pharmacology, De Medica Materia (1546/1547), Aristotle’s De Anima (on the soul) (1554), and a commentary on the prophet Isaiah by Hector Pinto.
