Annalù Boeretto, born in 1976 in San Donà di Piave near Venice, Italy, is a contemporary artist known for her innovative sculptures.
She combines materials such as synthetic resins, paper, fiberglass, and natural elements such as bark and roots to create metamorphic forms and imaginary architectures. Her works balance on the border between painting and sculpture, experimenting with different expressive possibilities.
Annalù's artistic journey began during her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where she graduated in 1999. Her first major exhibition took place at the Venice Biennale in 2001, where she participated in the project "MARKERS: an Outdoor Banner Event of Artist and Poets for Venice Biennale 2001". Since then, she has exhibited her work both in Italy and internationally, including in Singapore, Germany, the United States, and France.
A central theme in Annalù's work is transformation. She strives to capture moments of transition and metamorphosis, creating solid sculptures that exude a fluid, almost ethereal quality. Her “Dreamcatcher” series, for example, consists of delicate structures that appear to float, inviting the viewer to contemplate the fragile nature of dreams and reality.
In her creative process, Annalù attaches great importance to the symbiosis between technique and content. She considers her work a form of alchemy, transforming different materials to create new meanings and forms. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Annalù was faced with restrictions that forced her to rethink her creative approach. During this period, she focused on drawing and developing new projects, which gave her the opportunity to reflect deeply on her work and artistic vision.
