  • About the artist

Diana Bitar, born in 1995 in Brussels, is a Belgian textile artist known for her pleated and hand-dyed creations, which evoke imaginary landscapes with delicate gradients. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, she has developed a unique technique combining meticulous pleating and artisanal dyeing.

Her creative process begins with the meticulous preparation of materials: each sheet of synthetic fabric is folded individually according to precise patterns, then dyed with carefully labeled pigments. The folds and colors are fixed by baking in the oven, revealing unpredictable nuances that give each piece its unique character. Next, the artist places each strand of fabric on a felt surface, pinning them one by one to form elaborate curves and twists, sometimes after weeks of work to achieve the desired perfection.

Inspired by her memories, nature and everyday moments, Diana Bitar seeks to provoke emotions and tell stories through her works. She says: "I want my work to transport people into their own memories, dreams and imaginations."

Her creations have been exhibited in various prestigious venues, including the exhibition "Pli" at the Musée de la Tapisserie et des Arts Textiles in Tournai in 2020, and more recently at The Millen House gallery, where her works such as "Serendipity part III" and "Bougainvilliers pour téta" were presented.

Diana Bitar's works are also available for sale on specialized online platforms, allowing collectors and art lovers to acquire her unique pieces.

Exploring the infinite possibilities of textiles, Diana Bitar continues to push the boundaries of her art, creating compositions that invite contemplation and escape.
