• About the artwork
  I just finished this painting called, “ The Goddess within”
  
  It started with a base of gold leaf. If you look closely, you see the thin line of pure gold running right through the middle of her face and body. This pure gold symbolizes the gold you have within you.
  Despite all your insecurities, your flaws, and your quirks.
  Rob van der lei believe we all have the Divine within us.
  If we assume that God is everything, then that means you are Divine too.
  He knows the word "God" leaves a bad taste in some people's mouths, a bad feeling.
  But I doesn't mean the church.
  he means, there's something inside you that knows more than you do, something you can trust because it knows the bigger picture, the whole picture—unconditional love, security. Something you can fall back on when you're feeling lost.
  HeI challenges you to have a conversation with this Goddess within. And rest assured, you don't have to mince your words; everything is open for discussion. He or she will comfort you, hold you, and support you, but also challenge you, because he or she knows there's so much more within you, if only you dare to trust. Dare to say what your fear is, because it only grows when you run away from it. Or haven't you noticed this yet? Now is the time to confront your fear, and with the support of this Devine part of you, you can do anything.
  Feel free to ask for what you need. Because simply expressing your desire, your own desire, gives you so much power. What would you ask for?
  What would be the first thing you would like to discuss, with the Goddess within?

  If you don’t start your journey you won’t discover anything is my quote. In Dutch, “zonder te vertrekken ga je niets ontdekken”  (Rob van der Lei) 

  Let me take you on a journey exploring the worlds inside my head. As long as I can remember there is a longing to explore these world. Like a normal journey I first had to prepare. Learn life’s lessons develop myself and painting skills. But now its time to go. Come with me and explore these worlds, their cultures, the people and creatures that live in them.

   

  

  Maybe you get inspired to do something creative too. I believe we are all creative creatures. By practicing our creativity we find a piece of ourselves, that makes us happier and free. But our creativity is often killed by fear. Fear is the thing that holds us back, to do the thing we love. What do you love? What’s your passion, that’s suppressed so long, that it’s almost forgotten.

   

  

   

  Maybe by taking this journey with me, it will awaken, like a prehistoric creature that hibernates in a forgotten place, first it opens one eye, slowly moves a finger, then his whole body is moving, it gets up, in a cloud of dust it arises. When the dust has come to rest the creature is gone… gone to.. explore… What will it do? What will you do with your new found sense of discovery, become a collector, make some art of your own, or both?
