Gérard Willemenot (1943) was educated at the Ecole des Arts in Paris and after 20 years of working as an Architect chose his lifelong passion: painting. From his first exhibition he knew this was the right decision.

He mainly works with egg tempera on panel and is inspired by old masters such as Hieronymus Bosch, Bruegel and Memling. These masters fascinate him in subject matter and technique.

He is also inspired by the still lifes and the use of trompe l'oeil by Flemish painters in the 16th and 17th centuries. His work focuses on the themes of Love, Humor and Death.

Gérard Willemenot's works are among many collectors around the world and hang in a number of French and foreign galleries.
