Tilburg, through August 9, 2026, Gallery SEB presents a special exhibition featuring the paintings of Ger Doornink. An artist with a completely unique signature, craftsmanship, quality, and an exceptional sense of beauty.

Ger Doornink (Aalten) moves effortlessly between painting, illustration, and photography. He is a contemporary master, an artist who captures and elevates the essence of the female portrait. His work breathes the colors of the past and whispers of a future that is slowly fading. Here, the truth does not hide, but reveals itself in layers of light and shadow.

His signature? A unique visual language in which sensitivity and strength come together, shrouded in a mantle of modernity. Doornink makes the invisible visible,
accentuates glances with subtle plays of light, and lets colors emerge like lost memories. His portraits seem to have always existed, floating between present and past, contemporary yet imbued with timelessness and magic.

For years, he lived and worked in Tokyo, Milan, and Amsterdam, a world tour reflected in his oeuvre. His geisha-like figures and quintessentially Dutch women seem to step straight off the catwalk: iconic, seductive, and powerful. Nowadays, he resides and works in Amsterdam and Barcelona. His work continues to balance on the border of tradition and innovation, memory and expectation.
