Sur l'artiste
Jean-André Reiche était un artisan respecté d'objets en bronze de Leipzig qui travaillait principalement pendant la période Empire. Il s'installe à Paris alors que Louis XVI est au pouvoir et devient maître fondateur en 1785, après quoi sa réputation ne tarde pas à grandir. Il est décédé en 1817, après quoi il a laissé son entreprise prospère à son fils.
