- A proposito di opere artistaMari Silverster Andriessen era uno scultore olandese, noto soprattutto per il suo lavoro in memoria delle vittime dell'Olocausto. Ha frequentato la Haarlemse Kunstnijverheidschool e la Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten di Amsterdam, e successivamente l'Academie van de Beeldende Kunsten di Monaco. Durante la guerra, dovette unirsi alla "kulturkammer" nazista, che rifiutò. Dopo la guerra, divenne l'artista più richiesto per i monumenti della guerra e della resistenza alla guerra. Era un membro del "de Groep", di scultori figurativi tradizionali, che occupò un posto importante nell'arte olandese dopo la guerra.
