  Willem Bol (1950) is a Dutch artist and the youngest son of painter Kees Bol. He began painting and drawing at a young age, including creating works for tourists in France. Bol developed a versatile style encompassing still lifes, portraits, and surreal compositions, known for their technical skill and emotional depth. His work continues to be appreciated by collectors and art enthusiasts and remains a source of inspiration within the Dutch art world.
  
  In this painting, Willem Bol captures the quiet beauty of a winter landscape with a powerful, almost graphic simplicity. A broad horizon divides the canvas into two halves: the dark, ominous sky above and the snow-covered landscape below. The bare trees and the interplay of white, green, and brown create a sense of stillness and space—a moment of calm in the transition between seasons.
  
  The restrained composition and controlled use of color demonstrate Bol’s ability to achieve maximum expression with minimal means.   Willem Bol (geboren in 1950) is een Nederlandse kunstschilder, bekend om zijn verfijnde stillevens en landschappen in olieverf. Als zoon van de gerenommeerde schilder Kees Bol groeide hij op in een artistieke omgeving, maar wist hij zich al vroeg los te maken van deze erfenis en een eigen, herkenbare signatuur te ontwikkelen.

  Zijn werk beweegt zich tussen realisme en verstilling. In zijn landschappen vangt Bol niet alleen het zichtbare, maar vooral de sfeer en het moment—vaak gekenmerkt door zachte lichtval en een ingetogen kleurgebruik. Zijn stillevens tonen eenzelfde aandacht voor compositie en balans, waarbij alledaagse objecten een bijna meditatieve kwaliteit krijgen.

  Bol werkte en exposeerde zowel in Nederland, onder meer in Eindhoven, als in Frankrijk, waar hij zich liet inspireren door het landschap en het licht. Zijn levenshouding wordt vaak omschreven als die van een “vrijbuiter”: onafhankelijk, intuïtief en weinig gebonden aan conventies, zowel in zijn kunst als in zijn persoonlijke leven.

  Met zijn schilderijen zoekt Willem Bol naar eenvoud, rust en authenticiteit. Zijn oeuvre laat zien hoe traditie en persoonlijke vrijheid samen kunnen komen in werk dat zowel toegankelijk als gelaagd is.
