Daan Muhlhaus, also known as Daniel Mühlhaus (Dordrecht, 1907–1981), was a Dutch painter who left behind a recognizable and highly regarded oeuvre within the twentieth-century Dordrecht painting tradition. He gained fame with his atmospheric cityscapes, harbor and river landscapes, often inspired by Dordrecht and its immediate surroundings.

Largely self-taught, Muhlhaus developed a naturalistic, slightly impressionistic painting style, characterized by loose and precise brushstrokes and a distinct sense of light, atmosphere, and weather conditions. Water, quays, ships, and historical architecture play a central role in his paintings, in which he does not idealize the city but rather captures its everyday, tranquil beauty.
