Erik (born 1969) has been drawing since childhood and developed a strong love for painting from there. Since 2005, he has worked full-time as an artist and practices painting with visible enthusiasm. In his studio, he primarily creates figurative works and still lifes, painted with a loose touch and a direct, lively paint application.

For Erik, painting is a way to translate the stories in his mind into images of paint. At the same time, he consciously leaves room for the viewer: he finds it most rewarding when someone discovers their own story in his work. Not everything needs to be explained—mystery and imagination are precisely what make it interesting.

Erik is affiliated with Galerie Bonnard in Nuenen, where he regularly participates in exhibitions.
