  • About the artist

    Jean-Pierre Lorand was born in Valenciennes, he resides in Brussels. He is a self taught artist who, though beginning as a commercial artist, soon developed his own style of painting.

    The critic, Stephane Rey, classifies Lorand as a painter of Poetic Reality. Since 1977 Lorand has shown internationally as well as in Belgium.

    Lorand bathes the viewer in an atmosphere of poetical serenity through time and space. His works are in many collections and appear in illustrated books about Naïve Art (Art Naif).
