- About the artist
Elies Auer (1952) is a Dutch painter. Elies Auer studied architecture in Delft and followed courses for professional painters in Indonesia, France and the Netherlands. Characteristic of her work is the strong colours set in acrylic or mixed technique, in a balance between figurative and abstract.
Cities, people, landscapes and flowers are the four themes. Auer's work is driven by a continuous search to create impact with detail. The landscapes, cities, streets and buildings are fictional. Nevertheless, the viewer wonders, "Where is that? When was I there? Her paintings are in collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, England, Portugal, Italy and Poland. She has exhibited in the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Poland and Indonesia.
She also works in commission. Pro member of NABK (Nationale Associatie voor Beeldend Kunstenaars)Member of BOK (Beroeps Organisatie Kunstenaars)
