André van der Vossen was a Dutch graphic designer, painter and draftsman. He went to the School voor Bouwkunde, Versierende Kunsten en Kunstambachten in Haarlem.
He specialized in wood-cuts. From 1917 until 1933, he worked for the firm Joh. Enschedé en Zonen in Haarlem. He also worked for the PTT where he was the designer of postage stamps.
After the Second World War, from 1948 on, he began painting in the Geometric to Abstract-Expressionist style. He was actively involved with Vrij Beelden, the counterpart of the international avant-garde movement Cobra, and Liga Nieuw Beelden.
From 1949 on, he exhibited in the Salon des Realités Nouvelles annually until 1956.
Van der Vossen died in 1963 in Bloemendaal.
