Signed lower right - A proposito di opere artistaAlbert Charles Auguste Plasschaert, pseudonimo di A. Pelgrym, è stato un pittore, critico d'arte e poeta olandese. Nacque a Sas van Gent il 20 aprile 1874, morì a L'Aia il 9 maggio 1941. Plasschaert frequentò la Scuola Politecnica di Delft e per un certo periodo studiò giurisprudenza all'Università di Leiden. Durante gli anni da studente è stato direttore della rivista letteraria e d'arte De Tuin. Si è rivelato uno dei critici d'arte più formidabili dei Paesi Bassi. Ha pubblicato le sue critiche sui giornali Het Vaderland e su De Groene Amsterdammer. Ha anche scritto per riviste come The Art, The Voice e New Guide. Tra le sue prestigiose commissioni c'erano i progetti di vetrate per la Royal Dutch Glass Factory J.J.B.J. Bouvy a Dordrecht. Fu sepolto nel cimitero generale nella sua città natale di Rijswijk.
