Anthonie Jacobus van Wijngaerdt (1808, Rotterdam – 1887, Haarlem) was a Dutch painter, etcher and draughtsman. He was taught to paint by Jacob de Meijer (1798- 1884), who was a landscapist and portraitist. Van Wijngaerdt made study tours to Germany (1833 and 1838) and Belgium (1840). He lived and worked in Rotterdam until 1834, from 1836 to 1861 in Gouda, where he also was a teacher of drawing at the Stadsteekenschool, and thereafter in Haarlem. Van Wijngaerdt made landscapes, woodlands, riverscapes, dunes, winter landscapes, city views. He had several exhibitions in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague, in the period 1832-1886. A number of his works are in the Haags Gemeentemuseum, The Hague; Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam; Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller, Otterlo.
