This rare early work marks an important moment in Bram Bogart's artistic development. This religious and figurative, abstract depiction of two nuns is exceptional within his oeuvre and shows how he gradually moves away from his early landscapes. The simplified forms, powerful contours, and expressive paint handling constitute an early prelude to the abstract visual language with which Bogart would later achieve international breakthrough.
