About the artist
The French designer and sculptor Georges-Henri Laurent designed for several editors during that period, he worked for Robj, Süsse Frères and Dunhill.
Laurent was an animalier, the animals were the main theme in his work and he portrayed them in a slightly stylized style.
Laurent's bronze animals were always portrayed in a way that brought out their nature, as these sparrows are endearing, for example he could make a predator come out more aggressive.
