Gerard Verdijk (Boxmeer, September 1, 1934 - The Hague, February 13, 2005) was a wonderful Dutch art.

In the years there were many Verdijk zijn first stages in the world of the art of depiction. Hij onderging zijn artistieke vorming at the Vrije Academie in Amsterdam and following her opleiding at the National Higher Institute for Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 1956 the greens went over to Paris, there were other seed works with Conrad Kickert that were published at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.

In 1959, Gerard Verdijk crashed into four other younger artists and set up the art group Atol op . Bovendien sloot Verdijk zich later on in the vooraanstaande art installations zoals de Haagse Kunstkring and de Pulchri Studio.

The recognition of his industrious oeuvre was only possible in the retrospective tentative setting, so that his work could be seen as a postuum. Zijn toewijding aan de art will be crowned with the prestigieuze Jacob Marisprijs and de Jacob Hartogprijs, the hij geurende zijn leven wants to appear.

The Volkskrant describes the exposition in the Stedelijk Museum aptly as a weergave of the dialectiek within the sign art and the voortdurende twijfel over the aard van deze kunstvorm, which exposed the essence of Verdijk's work.

Na het overlijden van Gerard Verdijk wrote his real work, Josephine Sloet, a monograph about his life and work. This monograph was inspired by the book of Diane Arbus, the famous photographer, and was an inspiration from the hair of a man's artist.
