About the artist

Noemí Palacios Doménech (born 7 January 1982 in Sabadell) is a Catalan sculptor known for her expressive and organic forms, inspired by the intrinsic structures of nature. Her work invites touch and exploration, pursuing a deep connection between form, space and content.

Education and Influences

Palacios studied sculpture at the Escola Superior d'Art i Disseny "La Llotja" in Barcelona. After graduating, she worked for many years in the studio of sculptor Mariano Andrés Vilella, where she further refined her skills in stone carving. This period was crucial for her development and led to a deep understanding of both the technical and conceptual aspects of sculpture.

Artistic Career

With over two decades of experience, Palacios has participated in more than 30 international symposia for stone and snow sculpture in countries such as Italy, the United States, Canada, France and the Czech Republic. Her public works can be found in various European cities, including France, Italy, the Czech Republic, as well as in several Spanish regions such as Asturias, Almería, León and Lleida. She has also exhibited at art fairs in Paris, Genoa and Vigo, and held solo exhibitions in cities such as Toulouse, Madrid and Barcelona.

Style and Philosophy

Palacios’ sculptures are characterized by fluid, organic forms that capture the essence of natural structures. Through a meticulous study of volume and stone, she reveals the inherent properties of the material, while expressing emotions and desires that resonate with the human experience. Her work functions as a symbiosis of form, space and content, striving for a direct and essential language that invites the viewer to touch and contemplate.

Teaching and Recognition

In addition to her artistic practice, Palacios teaches sculpture at the Escola d'Art Pau Gargallo in Badalona. She has received several awards and distinctions, including recognition at the Buñol Biennial (Valencia), the Premio San Piero a Sieve (Florence, Italy), and participation in symposia in Gijón, León and Almería.
