  • About the artist

    Charlotte (Sarika) Goth was the daughter of the Hungarian painter couple Maurice Moritz Goth and Ada Goth. Lived and worked in Budapest until 1906, Paris until 1908, Budapest, Domburg from 1914 to 1927; then in Amsterdam, from 1950 alternately in Amsterdam and Veere. From 1914, the family regularly stayed in Domburg, where Sárika started painting.

    Student of the Academy for B.K. in The Hague, was taught by Hans Hofmann in Munich and André Lothe in Paris. Has had advice from J.P.C.A. Koster and J.Th. Toorop. In 1929 the family settled in Veere, where Sárika lived and worked until her death. Sárika Góth paints portraits, still lifes and fantasies with birds or horses in a figurative style. Makes oil paint on paper prints (monotypes) and collages. Member of the Zeeland Art Circle. Taught R. Vink.
