  • About the artist

Charlot’s work has received numerous awards and is included in various private and corporate collections.

She completed her studies at the Royal Academy of Art in 2002, and since then, she has developed her abstract style, which remains highly recognizable and unique to this day.

From 2003 to 2013, she exhibited her work in a gallery in Breukelen. Since 2006, Charlot has participated in various national and international exhibitions and art fairs.

    Working Method
‘Being in a state of flow, transcends a feeling beyond time and space, every streak of color or kindled shape arise out of an intrinsic desire to draw and paint.’
Inspired by nature and meditation the paintings of Charlot emerge responsively through different phases. The semi-abstract paintings are created intuitively, using various techniques. She explores “worlds” between chaos and harmony, aiming to find the right balance. This is a layered and organic process that playfully alternates between spontaneity and control, roughness and refinement, and free forms versus detailed execution.

    Awards
At the EuropArtFair 2024 in Amsterdam, Charlot received first prize, determined by a jury of gallery owners and art collectors.
In 2023, Charlot was selected to participate in the “ArtistMeeting” at the Grand Casino in Knokke. And at the International Art Fair (IAF) in Rotterdam, she received second prize in the “Best Artist Award.”
