  • About the artwork
The painting "Girl with the Taurus" by Nico Vrielink is an acrylic artwork on canvas, measuring 155x55x3cm and presented in a frame. The painting depicts a nude woman crouching in front of a white bull, both in a natural landscape.

The woman is represented in a realistic style, with her skin and hair delicately painted with the acrylic technique. She is crouching, with her arms resting on her legs, looking directly at the viewer. The expression on her face is difficult to decipher, leaving room for multiple interpretations.

The bull is represented in a more abstract style, with broad and expressive brushstrokes creating a sense of movement and strength. Its white color contrasts with the natural landscape in shades of red and black.

The acrylic technique is skillfully used in the artwork, with carefully applied layers of paint creating a depth and texture effect. The choice of colors in the painting is limited, drawing attention to the bodies of the woman and the bull.

The edition of this artwork is unique, with the serial number 1/1, meaning it is the only copy produced.

In summary, "Girl with the Taurus" is an intriguing and engaging artwork that evokes many emotions and interpretations. The artist's technical skill and intriguing composition make this artwork a valuable addition to any art collection.
  • About the artist

Nico Vrielink (1958, Reusel) followed a teacher training course at an art academy in Belgium. However, teaching turned out not to be his vocation and since 1984 he has been working alone as an artist.

In 1985, during one of his many travels, Vrielink met his wife Jeane in Singapore. It is love at first sight, and Jeane has been Vrielink's greatest source of inspiration ever since. She can rightly be called his muse. Vrielink has made more than 4000 works of art with her as subject. Not only the model has remained the same over the years, so have the paintings. Mostly (half) naked, Oriental, realistic, idyllic, recognizable and exotic.

His starting point is to portray his wife's face as perfection. The rest of the body, the decor and the general finish are continuously adapted to this, from dark to bright. Due to the discretion that Vrielink places in his work, a natural distance remains between the model and the viewer.

Vrielink and Jeane have lived in many different places over the years, from the Netherlands to France and Bali. All these places have their influence on his work. Vrielink's work has been admired and acclaimed all over the world, as evidenced by the many exhibitions in the most exotic places.
