  • About the artist
Odile Kinart (born 1945 in Limburg, Belgium) is a prominent Belgian sculptor whose work is deeply rooted in poetry, emotion, and the expressive potential of the human form. Before dedicating herself fully to the visual arts, Kinart worked as a teacher of languages and literature, a background that strongly influenced the lyrical and introspective nature of her sculptures.

Her artistic journey emerged from a lifelong passion for poetry, gradually evolving into a sculptural practice through which she sought to give physical form to rhythm, silence, memory, and human connection. Working primarily in bronze and stone, Kinart creates sculptures that balance fragility with strength, often characterized by elongated forms, subtle movement, and a strong sense of intimacy.

Kinart’s works frequently explore universal themes such as love, solitude, spirituality, femininity, and the relationship between humanity and nature. Rather than focusing on literal representation, her sculptures aim to evoke emotion and contemplation, inviting viewers into a quiet dialogue with the work.

Over the course of her career, Kinart has exhibited extensively in Belgium and internationally, earning recognition for her refined craftsmanship and poetic visual language. Her sculptures can be found in galleries, private collections, and public spaces, where they continue to resonate through their timeless and meditative presence.
