  • About the artist

Fidia Falaschetti is an Italian multidisciplinary artist, born in 1977 in the Marche region. Raised amidst the tranquility of the Italian countryside and the increasing influence of a globalizing visual culture, he developed an early sensitivity to how consumption, media, and identity intertwine.

His training and early career took place in the creative industries, where he worked as an illustrator, graphic designer, and later art director. This background, firmly rooted in visual communication and popular iconography, ultimately became the breeding ground for his autonomous artistic practice. From the outset, Falaschetti consciously chose a visual language that appears playful and accessible—bright colors, recognizable figures, cartoonish shapes—but which, upon closer inspection, becomes critical and reflective.

In his sculptures and installations, Falaschetti explores the tension between youth culture, mass consumption, and the incessant flow of images that shape our values and desires. He places iconic figures from pop and toy culture in new, sometimes disruptive contexts. By distorting and magnifying the familiar, he reveals the underlying mechanisms of commercialization and nostalgic idealization. His work raises questions about authenticity, value, and the limits of culture as a product.

Falaschetti has exhibited internationally, in Europe, the United States, and Asia, and his work is included in private collections, design collectors, and contemporary art institutions. Although his practice moves between art, design, and popular culture, his approach remains personal and investigative: he sees art as a means of disconnecting and re-seeing, rather than providing definitive answers.

Today, he lives and works between Italy and Los Angeles, where he uses his studio as a laboratory for material experimentation, critique, and humor—always with an eye toward the way cultures express themselves through images.
