Roëde groeide op in The Hague, waar hijn opleiding tot tekenleraar volgde. Aanvankelijk worked as a graficus and illustrator, with a quick development in his work as a great artist. This style is characterized by an intriguing color and an intuitive approach. Hij describes the abstract as a figurative depth, in a language and a naive style. Volgens Roëde must be art based on zijn, humorous, in wars of seriousness and darkness. For this game you can play an autonomous and musical role. Schijnbaar simple and luminous, what the composition altijd zorgvuldig opgebouwd.
Hij was a tijdgenoot van Piet Ouborg, Jaap Nanninga and Wim Sinemus, who regularly appeared in The Hague. Roëde will be exposed to the abstract-surrealism of Joan Miró. Hij had a special voorkeur for abstract of figuratief; The process of describing what is important to him and the result of it is clear.
With his many oeuvre, Roëde is part of the pioneers of modern art in the Netherlands. The work is connected to the Cobra movement, but it is not connected to the group in the slots. Hij was lover on zichzelf, peculiar and original than hij was.
