    At home we have a dashing snails jar. White, with a blue and orange swag from the foot swinging up gracefully. The three snails on the edge are blue with orange houses. What is there anyway with those exuberant jugs and jars, those silly salad bowls and theapots by Bernard Heesen? Or with those unadorned beauty of his spherical vases like this one. What makes them so attractive, so desirable? The world of this glass blower is full of secrets.

    Bernard Heesen est un artiste et designer verrier néerlandais. Il a étudié l'architecture à Delft de 1977 à 1984 et a ensuite commencé à travailler dans la verrerie que son père, Willem Heesen, a fondée; De Oude Horn. En 1986, Bernard Heesen a choisi d'être un artiste verrier. Dès lors, et encore aujourd'hui, il travaille sur des créations avec son père et d'autres souffleurs de verre de De Oude Horn.
