    In the important Dutch tradition of constructivism, starting in the 1910s with the work of Mondriaan en Theo van Doesburg – the movement of De Stijl – the Amsterdam based painter Henk Martelhof (1917-2000) made very subtle abstract-geometric work, ‘Compositie’, like this one from 1983, acrylic on board, in very good condition, framed, 40×40.

    Henk Martelhof (1917–2000) was een Nederlandse beeldend kunstenaar wiens werk voornamelijk wordt geassocieerd met het constructivisme.

    Hoewel er beperkte biografische informatie beschikbaar is over zijn leven, is bekend dat zijn oeuvre bestaat uit abstracte composities die doen denken aan de stijl van Piet Mondriaan en Bart van der Leck. ​
