About the artwork
De schilder en aquarellist Haus was werkzaam in de periode 1818 – 1843. Zijn oeuvre bestond vooral uit landschappen (als genre), winterlandschappen, zomerlandschappen en stadsgezichten. Vermeld in Scheen 1981 op pagina 199.

About the artist
Hendrik Manfries Haus was born in The Hague in 1803 and moved in 1837. He has become known for his ice scenes with ice skates and lively summer landscapes. His source of inspiration regarding summer and winter landscapes came from his colleague painter and contemporary Andres Schelfhoudt.
