- Over kunstenaar
Dick Zwier was a Dutch visual artist who mainly worked and lived in Amsterdam. Zwier made paintings, watercolours, drawings and murals and preferred geometrical compositions. He started his education at the State Academy of Art in Amsterdam at age 18 under the supervision of Hendrik Jan Wolter and Heinrich Campendonk. Campendonk was a member of the expressionist artist group 'Der Blaue Reiter', which had a great influence on Zwier his work. His main inspiration for his work lays in the ports of his place of birth, with the buildings and construction sites there. Nowadays, his work can be found in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
