  • Sobre artista
    Marcel Wanders (Boxtel, 1963) é internacionalmente conhecido por seus produtos, móveis e design de interiores e direção de arte. Formou-se cum laude na Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (agora ArtEZ) em Arnhem em 1988, após ser expulso da Eindhoven Design Academy. Em 1995 ele abriu seu estúdio em Amsterdã, ganhando rapidamente a atenção mundial em 1996 por sua Knotted Chair, na qual um material de alta tecnologia é combinado com uma técnica de macramé de baixa tecnologia. Desde 2001, Wanders também trabalhou como diretor de arte para a Moooi, a bem-sucedida gravadora de interiores da qual é coproprietário. Hoje seus designs de sonho, referenciando estilos bem conhecidos do passado, têm sucesso particularmente no exterior e ele trabalha para marcas de renome internacional como Alessi, Moroso, KLM, Swarovski, Marks & Spencer, Puma, Kartell. Além disso, Wanders trabalhou em projetos de interiores como a sala VIP do pavilhão holandês na Feira Mundial de Hannover (2000), o Mondrian Hotel Miami (2008) e o Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht Hotel (2012).
